Prasenjit was born on June 1988 in Tamluk, West Bengal, India. He had completed his schooling from Srirampur Agricultural High School. Then, after completing his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in the year 2011 from Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya, he moved to Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh for his post-graduation studies. There he had jointly worked with Prof. Parimal Kumar Bharadwaj and Prof. Debabrata Goswami's group to complete his 6 month MSc project on "Milk turning sour: Detection by non-linear spectroscopic technique". Then he joined Dr. Surajit Ghosh's group at Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, where he worked on “Designing platforms & peptides for monitoring microtubule function and neuroprotection” project. Along with this, he has performed some collaborative work with Prof. Kankan Bhattacharyya's group at Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science. Currently, he is a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School, working with Prof. Bradley T Hyman
